Atlantic Beach Golf Club

ATLANTIC BEACH GOLF CLUB is situated 30 minutes from Cape Town

Enjoy our Championship Links style Golf Course with its traditional style and its ocean breeze. On calm days you can play your normal lofted shot or on windy days you can use the firm turf to play low running shots, beneath the wind. Either way, we are sure you will enjoy the challenges around this 18-hole golf course.

Atlantic Beach Links Golf Courses have been built with a serious commitment to the preservation of the indigenous fauna and flora.

The Leisure Centre is for the exclusive use of members and residents on Atlantic Beach Golf Estate. Members can enjoy the swimming pool, braai area and tennis courts on the Benguela Terrace, relax in the Recreation Room with its pool table, dartboard, soccer table or work out on the exercise equipment in the Fitness Centre.

Spectacular views of Table Mountain and Robin Island welcome you to the Sunset Terrace Restaurant. As the sun sets, watch a dreamlike African sunset melt into the Atlantic Ocean. A cozy fireplace in winter, offers our patrons a chance to unwind and enjoy a bottle of good South African Wine at the Legends Bar & Lounge.

Treat yourself to an unforgettable experience.

MELKBOS ACTIVITIES

Melkbosstrand is the perfect base from which to explore both Cape Town and the West Coast, such as the close by Durbanville winelands and the Boland Mountains, offering a number of wonderful day trips through valleys hung with vines, blue skies for most of the year and mountains looming in the background. The villages of Darling (think 'darling' town tucked in amongst vines and home to Evita se Perron; theatre you mustn't miss!), and even Riebeek-Kasteel  and Riebeek-West  if you're prepared to travel a little further, are all within easy range of Melkbosstrand and well worth the effort.

Watersports - surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, bodyboarding, boating.

CAPE WINELANDS, WESTERN COAST

For the wine lover a visit to the Cape Winelands is a must as the region offers breathtaking vistas and majestic mountain backdrops while being steeped in rich culture and history. Rolling vineyards and quaint Cape Dutch homesteads await you, as well as award-winning wine farms offering some of the country's best wines.

The rich, fertile soils along the Breede River Valley and especially the areas of Somerset West, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, have become world famous for their whites, reds, sherries, ports and brandies. Numerous wine estates are within a 45-minute drive of Melkbosstrand and offer cellar tours and plenty of wine tasting opportunities. With towering mountains as their backdrop, the winelands towns offer history, spectacular scenery, outdoor activities and award winning restaurants for elegant or casual dining.

The winelands are divided into various different regions, each offering their own 'wine route'. The most popular and well-known are Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Somerset West, Wellington and Paarl. The wine estates of the Constantia valley are among the oldest estates and homesteads and produce award-winning wines.
